300 Series certified operator
The Owens Corning ELAMINATOR® Insulation System for 300 Series machines is installed by qualified, trained installers. The machine operator who is certified by Owens Corning in this category is certified to operate the 300 Series machines.
First stage, classroom basic training has been redesigned as a simple home study course with electronic quizzes so your employee can be working yet prepare himself with basic knowledge needed for the next stage. Each of the modules were chosen from an accredited National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Metal Building Assembler course endorsed by the MBMA. Knowledge of both 300 Series and 100 Series manuals is required to pass the quiz.
Second stage, performance training is hands-on with an Owens Corning Trainer. This four day long session gives your employee an excellent student to trainer ratio with four to six students with the Master Trainer. With a 50 X 45 foot metal building within a building, many installation techniques and problem solving situations can be explored without the pressure of getting a roof done or the weather conditions preventing instruction. This stage goes beyond any on-the-job training program, which provides only a minimum learning opportunity of a trainee.
Third stage, applied knowledge, requires your employee to apply his problem-solving training on actual 300 Series projects, since every project presents a different set of problems using the ELAMINATOR® machines. The Master Trainer is available by phone for advice to solve specific job problems that may arise.
Finally, after completing the required number of projects and reporting them to Owens Corning, the apprentice on his last required project is tested on the project by an Owens Corning trainer or examiner. On the project, the trainer observes and asks verbal questions for one day while the apprentice operates the machine.
Certification is an annual certification and requires re-certification before the end of the twelve month period. Owens Corning informs the certified operator each year the requirements for re-certification.
