Installation & Design Considerations

• Spaced above ceiling should not be ventilated to the outdoors. Wind pressure may lift ceiling panels and increase air leakage.
• Sonobatts® and Thermal Batts are not recommended for use in areas with high inside relative humidities. Contact Owens Corning for application limitations for specific projects.
• Consult ceiling panel manufacturer for information on time design assemblies and maximum backloading requirements.
• Protect overhead piping from freezing temperatures.
• Insulation should not be installed within 3” of light fixtures unless fixtures are approved for use with insulation.
• When specifying kraft-faced or standard foil-faced insulation check local code requirements for limitations and install facing in substantial contact with ceiling panel.
